I need your help!

Forgive me for not posting for a few days, but trust me, this is a good one. Think beyond knitting.

This weekend marks the annual Jordan Valley Big Loop Rodeo, the rodeo in the town where I grew up. So off Catie and I went, while George stayed home with the stomach virus from hell. At any rate, this is what the pasture looked like when we got home.

Look a little closer now...
And just a little closer yet...
Yes folks, today was sheep delivery day. I've mentioned on here in the past that we were planning on getting a couple of lambs. They're from Cleo, at The Sheep Shed, the same place I bought my wheel. Here's a couple of close ups:

The white one is a Merino-Cormo cross, and the brown one is Border Leiscter-Merino cross. Both ewe lams. Both about two and a half to three months old.

SOOO...here's where you all come in. We haven't come up with good names for these little girls. So I'm holding a bit of a contest. Let me know your ideas. G and I will choose from among the options, and the lucky winner(s) will get a little gift from me. Some lovely STR, perhaps?? Maybe a bit of handspun as well??

I don't have lambs, but we always name our cars after Jane Austen characters. Eleanor & Marianne? Lizzie and Jane? (Our current car is Emma.)

Me again. Correction: Elinor. I should be struck by lightning.

Oh...what fun! I'm thinking something to do with coffee (sitting here with a ginormous cup myself). The light one Latte of course, the dark maybe Espresso? Nah. Chocolate? Maybe Ghiradeli (spelling?). Oh shoot. I'll have to think about this. Coming up short.

Oh they are darling! (I come by way of the Knittyboard, btw. Hi!)
How about Clover for the white and Blu for the brown? Can't really rationalize either well...just sort of came to me. :)

Chocolate Spot and Snowball.

Cuz the white one? Looks just like a little stuffed lamby my godmother gave me when I was 5, and yup, called her Snowball. Yup, had never seen snow, grew up in LA.

Chocolate Spot is a play on the white spot. But my oh my, that brown is very choco...like...OH OH! Even better: COCO PUFF!!!

Man, I sooo want to own sheep, but I live in a city where there's never enough acreage.

The white ewe: Empress, Blanche-Neige (Snow White in French!), Lily.

The moorit ewe: Braewyn (means Brown in Gaelic), Sienna (Brown in Italian), Elwyn ("pale brow" in Welsh)

How about Bittersweet and Nilla(short for vanilla)?

Coffee and Cream?

Daisy and May?

Had a hard enough time naming my kids, not great with the animals. They are gorgeous!!!

Lucy and Ethel are my friend's pug's names!

All I ask is that you don't name them Ebony and Ivory. Gag.

Perhaps Elizabeth (Zimmermann) and Meg (Swansen)?

My mom suggests Ewe and Aye. My mom is funny sometimes.

For the brown one, I have to go with Clarice. She just has a Jodi Foster look and feel. And their share the same coat color too!

The white doesn's resonate anything with me.

But Clarice. Said in that Sir Anthony Hopkins way... "Tell me, Clarice - Have the lambs stopped sreaming?"

how about fluffer and nutter?

i love the clarice suggestion too. you could name the other one buffalo bill. although actually if they were my animals, i might get a little too creeped out. still clever though.

I suggest Clarise for the brown one...
